This year's tournament was held on Sunday 11 September and despite dire weather warnings by the BBC again the weather held out with the sun shining down on us as we ended the day!! Again this year saw 24 teams enter. As ever a great days netball saw a good final between Ryland and BAI with Ryland retaining the trophy for the 3rd successive year.

The Lyn Cain Plate was won by Sutton 1, who triumphed against Westside.

“The Joan Annie Lacey Trophy” for the player of the tournament as voted for by umpires was won by XXXX of Cliftonettes.

As a result of the excellent support we receive every year we raised an amazing £3,800 for Teenage Cancer Trust - our second year supporting this fantastic charity. The mony raised this year will again go to the local TCT units based at the Royal Orthopaedic Hopspital, Queen Elizabeth and Birmingham Childrens Hospital in Birmingham. This brings our total fundraising through the Lyn Cain Trophy since 1995 to £51,550 supporting cancer related charities - we broke the £50k this year! A fantastic achievement particularly in todays economic climate!! Lyn's parents again came up to present the cheque to Craig Burchell, Regional Fundraiser from TCT.
