This year's tournament was held on Sunday 14th September. Despite an appalling summer, the weather was again kind to us. This year saw us extend the tournament to 24 teams. A great day's netball and fundraising saw Bounrville 1st triumph in the trophy final against Parkside, after a nailbiting final which went into extra time. Bournville last held the trophy in 1997.
The Lyn Cain Plate was won by Westside, who triumphed against LMR Rugby.
“The Joan Annie Lacey Trophy” for the player of the tournament as voted for by umpires was won by Sinead Jackson of XS.
As a result of the excellent support we receive every year we raised a fantastic and unprecendted £5,000 for Cancer Research UK bringing our total fundraising through the Lyn Cain Trophy since 1995 to £40,750. A fantastic achievement! Lyn's parents again came up to present the cheque to Karen Bevan, Area Manager from Cancer Research UK and herself a former Rover and Bournville player..
