What's it like? Taking part in Bournville Intermediates Netball Club is a great way to develop your netball skills, with opportunities to play matches, and make some great friends along the way. All Bournville Intermediate players have the opportunity to feed into the senior section of Bournville Netball Club when they reach a suitable age. Who is the club for? Bournville Intermediates welcomes players of all abilities from shcool years 7, 8, 9 and 10. From this age, players will then, when they are ready, feed into the senior section of the club. Whether you want to develop your skills, or you want to play with quality players, Bournville Intermediates can cater for your individual goals. When do they train? Bournville Intermediates train every Monday night at King Edwards Girls School (KEGS) in Edgbaston from 6 – 7:15pm. The season starts in September with coaching sessions, and continues through to July when the Birmingham Intermediate Netball League finishes. Training takes place in the sports hall at KEGs from September to Easter, and then outdoors at KEGs from Easter to July. What are the coaching sessions like? Each week, a group of girls, led by 3 dedicated and qualified coaches, take part in netball training in an enjoyable, friendly atmosphere. Making netball fun, whilst improving players individual skills and game play, coupled with the opportunity to try other activities and sports makes these training sessions really enjoyable for all involved. Do we play matches? Yes, 2 teams were entered in the Birmingham Intermediates netball league last season, which starts in early March. The number of players who are able to commit to matches every week determines the number of teams entered each season. There are also friendly matches organised throughout the season. Do Bournville Intermediates have their own kit? Yes, the Intermediates play in the same kit as the rest of the club. You are able to buy your own kit for matches when you join. However, this is not compulsory. What do I do if I want to take part? If you want to join Bournville Intermediates, and are able to commit to training on a Monday night from 6pm – 7:15pm at KEGS then please give Rosie Benson, the coach, a call for more information (see Contact Us page). This is your chance to make some great friends, enjoy developing your skills, and play some netball in a fun environment.
